Turn the Tide Performance

August 25, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

In response to the toxic water crisis that is occurring to our waters here in Florida, we are producing an event to serve as an opportunity to educate people about possible solutions. We are a concerned group of citizens with no political agenda or affiliation with any group.

The event will be held at the Cock n’ Bull in Sarasota on Saturday, August 25, starting at 3pm. This free, family-friendly gathering will feature a number of speakers and a discussion panel with local experts, representatives, and political candidates who wish to educate and inspire the community to action. Local organizations, conservation groups, politicians, and community leaders will be provided a table or a booth to share ideas and solutions with all who attend.

The event will be focused on education and awareness, with some local musicians, dancers, and visual artists giving their time and talent to keep spirits high.

We hope this platform will serve as a think tank to help us all unite and turn this tide swiftly.

** Caravan Project Sarasota will perform a set at 6:30 pm
Caravan Project Sarasota will be present to lend our magic to the event. We will be dancing in honor of the water, appearing as visual expressions of the Great Waters made into Women – Oceanides, Niads, Mermaids, and Nereides. Many of our tribal Bellydancer members have long been dancing to raise awareness for the seas (active in local events from the very first Hands Across the Sands To World Oceans Day) and we are honored to be part of this event. Catch us performing dances that bless and honor the water, and then learn from our resident Environmental Enchantress Misha as she shares a few simple tips on how to care for Mumma Earth and her lifeblood Water.
